Zamalek 3 - “faked” Inter 0 : A leg and a half in the quaterfinals

By: Tamim | April 27th, 2008

safty_4001.jpg3-0, very good result, we couldn’t have wished for more since we knew nothing about this club coming from Angola thinking they are the real inter “milan” wearing nerazzuri but way different than the Italian champions (no, i am not a fan of inter), i really don’t know why some African clubs has no identity (Ajax cape town, inter club…..). any way, we are now 80% in the group stages unless and i must say unless!!

zamalek continued to maintain their great form recently especially the multi-talented “shikabala”. the team put a great show at the first half ;however, they still relied a lot on English style long balls which lead to nothing. when the team moved the ball on the ground we were very dangerous. also the players continued their habit of losing concentration in the second half and giving the opponent the chance to be dangerous at a time we can crush them if we concentrate.

shikabala continued his magic, this player really is one of the best players on this earth; he has extra skills , on one on one situations don’t worry he will get past the man whoever he is, he create chances for him and his team mates. he was involved in the 3 goals in someway or another; either by scoring or assisting. i just want him not to be distracted by anything and just think of football.

forgot to tell, the goals were scored by amr el safty (pictured up), shikabala and mohamed ibrahim our new rising star. all came from fast and well planned attacks with shikabala adding his touch to them.

the score is relieving and make us walk into the return leg with a lot of confidence and comfort unless:
-the referee has another opinion
-inter club put us at the dirtiest, shittiest hotel there in lwanda or even doesn’t send a bus to pick us up from the airport (that’s what happened last time with africa sport)
- the pitch is very very bad to the extent you can’t pass the ball
-the weather is extremely terrible (raining)

however, zamalek is an experienced team on all these condition and can even come out from Angola victorious. all i am worried about is the referee, last time, it seemed that he was paid just to make africa sport win by any means possible or impossible.

if you think we are good, well excuse me sir , you haven’t seen nothing yet. wait until amr zaki is back on form and mostafa gaafar back from injury. in defense, wessam el abdy will be back and we will rock them all

finally, we would like to send our little red brothers from Cairo a special greeting here from zamalek’s offside as they lost from platinum stars 2-1, however i don’t want them to crash out of the championship now. they must be with us in the group so we can have our own dogfight!!!
