Zamalek 5 - Aluminium 1: nice and easy
By: Tamim | May 6th, 2008
5-1…i have to admit i haven’t seen zamalek achieve such a score line since very very long time and what makes it feel good is that it was achieved was one of the best performances during this season, and what even make it more astonishing is that it was done by the substitutes; however, i have to say that the opponent’s defense helped a lot
i will go 2 hours before the game where el gaish who are competing with us for the second place and a champions league spot. the lost from ettihad of Alexandria 2-1 which made things easier for zamalek and reduced pressure on the players.
line up: abd el monsef, ahemd magdy, beshir el tabei, karim zekry, magdy atwa, tarek el sayed, ahmed abd el raouf, osama hassan, hazem emam, amr zaki, abdel halim ali
rud kroll decided to rest his team before the tiring journey to Angola to play with inter club in the second leg of round of 16, so he played with substitutes old-new faces which we haven’t seen for a while. for example, there are beshir el tabei who is back from injury, tarek el sayed who was in vacation!!!,magdy atwa a constant bench warmer, abdel halim ali like his former.
but in fact, they aren’t substitutes in its true meaning because they participated every now and then and this one of the merits of the team, we have all 25 players ready.
the goals were scored by abdel halim (2), amr zaki (2) and osama hassan. all of them were well played with osama’s goal from a free kick.
on the other hand, aluminium’s goal came from a tricky fast ball. the reef whistled for a foul so the player got the ball fast and passed it to his team mate who became in front of goal , dribbled through abd el monsef and score even before anyone both in and out the stadium recognized what happened!!
worth mentioning is that amr zaki wasn’t the same player who played last match and the reason was obvious, Bruce something “i don’t remember his name” wigan’s manager was in the stands watching amr. rumors says it, a deal will be done to get the striker to the EPL. amr himself put a lot of effort and enthusiasm in his play and managed to score 2 goals one from a brilliant dribble in front of goal and the other was a penalty kick.
there isn’t much to say, but i had one last question, is kroll this bad?should he leave or stay?
here are the goals
