Although Zamalek conceded a goal in the opening minutes of the match, the players’ spirit was there to change the result towards them. Sabry Rahil blast a volley to score his first goal in Zamalek and a minute later Mahmoud Abdel Razek “Shikabala” completed the turnover to send all Zamalek fans back to to their homes with a smile on their faces. Zamalek now has 33 points from 24 matches and moves up to the sixth spot in the Egyptian League Standings.

Read a summary for a bundle of matches starting from Week 17-23!

- Week 17: Zamalek vs. Itthad: 0-1 (Mohamed Gaber 6′)
Zamalek marks another loss to the rich list of defeats this season. The only goal scored was in the opening minutes of the match that surely put Zamalek players under pressure throughout the match. It’s worth noting that the match witnessed the debut for Sabry Rahil. Zamalek moves down to the 8th spot with 21 points from 17 matches!

- Week 18: Zamalek vs. Masry: 1-1 (Hany Said 66′ – Mohamed El-Gabbas 17′)
Zamalek managed to score a late goal to grab a point out of El-Masry’s match. Hany Said equalised the score with a header from a cross taken by Mahmoud Abdel Razek “Shikabala” from a free kick. This draw broke a three consecutive defeats and the jinx of a four non-scored goals matches! Zamalek now has 22 points out of 18 matches.

- Week 19: Zamalek vs. Telecom Egypt: 1-1 (Ahmed Magdy 50′ – Ahmed Gaafar 57′)
Zamalek was held by ten-man Telecom Egypt to a positive draw. Zamalek’s only goal was scored from the spot by Ahmed Magdy after the referee awarded Gamal Hamza a penalty. Seven minutes later, Telecom Egypt managed to score the equaliser to end Zamalek hopes grabbing the full 3 points. Zamalek now has a total of 23 points out of 19 matches.

- Week 20: Zamalek vs. Tersana: 0-0
Zamalek was “luckily” held by Tersana to a goalless draw in such a boring match as the post denied two goals for Tersana. The match witnessed Mahmoud’s Saad assignation to be Decastel’s assistant. Zamalek now has 24 points from 20 matches and moves to the ninth position in the Egyptian League Standings.

- Week 21: Zamalek vs. ENPPI: 1-0 (Hany Said 75′)
FINALLY A WIN! Zamalek managed to break the rule and scored a late goal to end a six-match run without a win. The winner goal came in just a few minutes after ENPPI had one man sent off. The goal’s credit is given to Alaa Ali who crossed the ball to the unmarked man, Hany Said who finished it cooly in the net. Zamalek’s position before this match was some how scary as the team was only four pionts away from the relegation zone. Zamalek now has 27 points out of 21 matches and moves up to the 8th spot in the Egyptian League Standings.

- Week 22: Zamalek vs. Haras El-Hodoud: 1-2 (Sherif Ashraf 77′ – Ahmed Abdel Ghani 5′, Abdel Hamid Basyouny 27′)
Good performance. Bad result. Zamalek players’ good performance wasn’t enough to change the game’s side towards them. Zamalek couldn’t manage to make a two win in a row and by this defeat, Zamalek marks the ninth loss this season. The second half was harsh on the players as Zamalek was already behind by two goals in the first half. An accurate cross in the late minutes of the match by Hazem Emam “Junior” to the fighting man Sherif Ashraf who managed to scores a header gave some hope to the fans at the end. Zamalek still has 27 points out of 22 matches and remains in the ninth spot in the Egyptian League Standings.

- Week 23: Zamalek vs. Gaish: 4-2 (Sherif Ashraf 11′, 51′, Abdel Halim Ali 62′, Mahmoud Abdel Razek “Shikabala” 80′ – Salah Amin 47′, Amer Sabry 73′)
IT’S NOT JUST A WIN! IT’S A BIG ONE! Zamalek excelled this time and managed to score four goals in a match the fans would find satisfying for sure. The players’ performance in the match was outstanding. Sherif Ashraf netted twice, Abdel Halim Ali is back to the scoring habit as well as Mahmoud Abdel Razek “Shikabala”. Zamalek moves up to the seventh spot with 30 points from 23 matches.

Finally, I would like to appologise for not blogging during the last period. I hope yourn’t mad at me
I do believe that Zamalek is going on the right track with Michel Decastel especially with the new couple of youth players.

We all wish the best for our beloved team in the upcoming matches.
The match is the first under Decastel’s supervision and witnessed the debut for two palyers: Olie Koffi and Mohamed El-Morsy. The only goal scored in the match was by a fatal mistake by Abdel Wahed El-Sayed as he chipped pass the ball to his marked teammate, Hany Said inside the box!

On the other side, the fans showed their anger against the whole team as they booed at them as the team seemed to be sinking and never rise again. Zamalek still has 21 points from 16 matches and moved down to the seventh position in the Egyptian League Standings.

Read a summary for a bundle of matches starting from Week 12-15 in addition to Egypt’s Cup match!

- Week 12: Zamalek vs. Haras El-Hodoud: 0-1 (Ahmed Abdel Ghani 63′)
Zamalek continues the series of bad results and loses to Haras El-Hodoud 1-0 in El-Dawry. El Hodoud’s match was the first under Ahmed Refaat’s supervision. The players’ performance in the match was somehow better than the previous ones, but the results are still disapointing.

- Week 13: Zamalek vs. Asyut Petroleum: 0-2 (Fathi Mabrouk 31′, Ahmed Sayed 90′)
Zamalek makes losing a habit and makes the third loss in a row, this time to Asyut Petroleum. This match, in addition to the previous match could be given a title: two matches..same taste! Zamalek still has 18 points from 13 matches!

- Week 14: Zamalek vs. Police Union: 3-1 (Mahmoud Abdel Razek “Shikabala” 11′, Abdel Halim Ali 36′, Junior Agogo 70′ – Yasser Mostafa 14′)
Zamalek breaks the rule of losing points and makes a win over Police Union in El-Dawry! Yes 3 goals at once! That surely has to be it! Zamalek is coming back on track! Let’s see what’s going on in the next matches..Zamalek added 3 points and now has a total of 21 points from 14 matches.

- Egypt Cup-Round 32: Zamalek vs. Bani Epead: 0-1 (El-Sayed El-Mandouh 80′)
Zamalek knocked out from Egypt Cup after losing 1-0 to Bani Epead. What a pity when the cup holders loose to a third-division team in the 32nd round! No need to add a comment about that, do I?!

- Week 15: Zamalek vs. Ahly: 0-1 (Flavio Amado 81′)
Zamalek fails to win Cairo Derby and looses 1-0 to Ahly in El-Dawry. This adds a new loss to Zamalek’s side in the list of matches between the two teams. Zamalek still has 21 points out of 15 matches!

Finally, we all wish the best for our beloved team in the upcoming matches.
The match witnessed the debut for three palyers promoted from the youth team: Alaa Ali, Hazem Emam “Junior” and Hossam Arafat. The defenders’ performance in the match was a complete disaster. On the other side, Abdel Wahed El-Sayed excelled as he made a couple of fine saves that if scored, the situation would’ve been even worst! Zamalek still has 18 points from 11 matches and moved down to the sixth position in the Egyptian League Standings.
